On September 29th, Toronto welcomed the return of the 2012 edition of Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, exposing the city to an all-night contemporary art event. 'Top Down', an artificial cityscape made of cardboard tubes and acrylic rods, was among more than 150 projects hitting the streets last weekend. Created by BRDGlab, a collective of architecture students (Taylor Davey, Samantha Eby, Stephanie Koltun, Katherine Kovalcik), this topographic 3D model of Toronto's building heights completely reinterpreted the familiar urban landscape, giving visitors a chance to observe the city from a whole new perspective.
Special thanks to Gina C and Tanguero Chin for the amazing photos.
