Indiana-based artist Leticia Bajuyo creates an impressive horned sculptural installation for her solo-exhibition 'Event Horizon' ( June 30 – August 30, 2012) at the Women and Their Work gallery in Austin, Texas. It builds on her previous site-sensitive works Entropy and Rewind, which are also made of thousands of donated CD's. Using cable ties and hula hoops, she repurposes discarded materials into meaningful, site-specific artwork that reflects our transient consumer values back to us. The disks are "sewed" together with the text information on one side and the shiny side that holds information on the other.
