Created by Aether & Hemera for the Durham International Brass Festival 2012, "Which is your brass’s voice?" is a sound and light interactive installation consisted of LED lights and 5 microphones that allows participants to discover their brass voices. Each microphone represents a specific brass instrument: Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Muted Trumpet and French Horn. Visitors can speak, sing, shout, or even whisper into the microphones to generate the brass sounds, which are synchronized with an array of colored LED lights creating a fully immersive ‘synesthetic’ experience.
All the notes generated are recorded to create a new composition at the end of the event.
