As more and more people move to expanding cities, farming will be pushed further away from population centers. The result of this is longer transportation routes, less fresh products, increased reliance on petroleum-based fertilizers and more high-intensity monoculture farming. This vertical space-efficient greenhouse developed by Sweden-based company Plantagon may be the solution to urban agriculture and a sustainable lifestyle.
The first new greenhouse is being built in Linköping, Sweden, near Tekniska Verken.
