If you haven't seen Terje Isungse's performance before, you are in for a treat.
This Norwegian-born percussionists has over 10 years of experience in playing ice instruments. He is the world's first and only ice musician, and the founder of the annual Ice Music Festival in Geilo, Norway. That said, it shouldn't be a surprise to hear that he makes his own instruments as well. His most prized instrument was a 2,500-year-old ice horn carved from a glacier in Norway, which lasted 50 performances.
I'm always searching for pieces of ice that can make a sound, so I'm working on a piece of ice and I'm listening to it all the time. It's kind of a communication between me and the piece of ice. ~ Jerje Isungset
