Inspired by Jonas Selberg Augustsen's documentary ”The Tree Lover”, Scandinavian architects Bolle Tham & Martin Videgård decided to create a treehouse that gives people a chance to experience nature amongst the tree-tops. That led to the creation of the Mirrorcube, the flagship creation of Treehotel.
It is a camouflaged sanctuary among the trees since it melts into its surrounding environment. At first it might seem as if the Mirrorcube defies the laws of gravity as it’s soaring in the air. Come close enough and you will see that the cube is safely anchored in its host-tree. A rope bridge leads up to the entrance and completes the contemporary design. The centerpiece of the room is the living tree that carries the weight of the room and its inhabitants.
