Inspired by the death of the printed word, New York-based artist Nick Georgiou transforms discarded books and newspapers found on the street into sculpture, offering new possibilities in a digital world. Georgiou selects, cuts, arranges, molds, and stacks brightly colored paper to create the illusion of a 3D sculpture on a 2D surface.
The exhibition, Nick Georgiou: Paper Elegies, is on view at the Temple Gallery , October 21 – November 22, 2011
