Incredible 3D Mandelbulb

This is not some mysterious deep sea coral that grows in the abyss. Its true identity might come as a shock, since it is the product of a math formula constructed by Daniel White and Paul Nylander.  It is a type of shape that yields or elaborates detail forever, no matter how far you zoom into it.  We leave the detail explanation to the expert.  We are too busy getting mesmerized by these incredible images!
