Dutch artists Geert van de Camp, Andre Dekker and Ruud Reutelingsperger founded Observatorium in 1997 as a way to further investigate the relationships between art, landscape and society.  The group joined force with visual artist Milou van Ham to create Waarheen Wharf (or Werf Waarheen in Dutch) a floating structure at one of the wide canals in Slochteren, a well-known small town in the North of the Netherlands,  where children can play safely.  The kids can also interact with the architecture by hammering words into the building, and influence the lighting inside the structure.
