This video was taken on April 25, 2010 at Rosenthaler Platz, Berlin, and posted on YouTube recently. 500 liters of water-based environmentally-friendly paint was spread on asphalt by 2000 cars.
In some ways, IEPE's Painting Reality shares some similarity with Holi, a religious spring festival celebrated by Hindus and now generally celebrated in the whole world. Both involves throwing paint in public space. However, the later has people throwing colored powder and paint at each other, not on asphalt. What do you think of IEPE's project? Is it art, or an attack on the public space?
