Crystalline Ovulation IV
Swiss Institute Rome, since 2005
The egg fountain is placed in one of the walls of the travertine covered courtyard. The fountain is embraced by a wall painting of prehistoric plants that were the base material (lime sediments) for the formation of the travertine. Inside the egg a pink fertilizer solution flows over a pile of souvenir size Roman statues and monuments. Over time crystals will settle on the figurines and slowly overgrow them.
